About Kwe Law Firm

Founded on Ojibwe Values

Kwe Law Firm PLLC is a boutique Indian law firm serving tribes and their business entities. Shauna L. Coons, the owner and Managing Partner of the firm, is an enrolled member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

Shauna comes from a family of leaders who greatly value their place within the tribe, and their contributions to the community. It was Shauna’s dream to continue this legacy of leadership; Kwe Law Firm is the fruition of this dream. The firm grew out of a desire to take the legal expertise that Shauna had gathered over the last 10+ years, and use that knowledge to bolster the businesses and lives of the tribal nations.

The Kwe Law Firm doesn’t just practice Indian law; Shauna lives it. Native American culture and beliefs are the building blocks of the firm, and influence every aspect of the practice. The firm was founded on the seven core Ojibwe values: wisdom, truth, respect, honesty, bravery, humility, and love. Shauna applies these seven Ojibwe values in all facets of life and is sincere in her approach to provide legal services based on these values.

Family and community have always been at the center of Shauna’s life, which is why Kwe Law Firm is much more than a law practice. It is an opportunity to nurture the tribal community, a chance to partner with tribal members and work together towards growth and prosperity.

We have developed relationships with important tribal and business leaders, and have an outstanding reputation running broad and deep within several tribal communities. Over the years, we have deepened our relationships through expert legal advice, and a devotion to securing the most advantageous result on behalf of our clients. Whether you decide to work with Kwe Law Firm on business law, real estate, housing, or government relations, you will always experience the same devotion.

Kwe Law Firm offers clients respect, specialized knowledge, individualized representation, and a true desire to create successful outcomes.
